The right Christmas spirit is created by Estonian dishes from Ülle and Nikita, and by music from the talented singer Carine Jessica Kostla with Mathei (keyboard) and Liis-Marii (cajon). Children book author and cartoon movie producer Ülo Pikkov presented his book President ja korstnapühkija / President and Chimney Sweeper in Katharinen youth library (Katharinengasse 11, St.Gallen). Followed by walk (approx 45 min) to Wildpark Peter und Paul. Read event summary here.

Reading series in St. GallenMr Dr. Yves B. Partschefeld conducted wonderful reading series in St.Gallen to honor 100 years of Republic of Estonia.
September and December readings are for the whole family, October and November readings are for adults. Wonderful opportunity to meet Estonian writers.

Saturday, 25th of November 2017 - Estonian Ethno Music Award winner Mari Kalkun and Advent Church Service in ZurichThe advent church service took place with Estonian pastor Anne Burkhardt and Estonian Choir in Switzerland. The service was followed by concert of Estonian Ethno Musicien Mari Kalkun. Mari has been inspired by Estonian nature, Estonian poetry and folk music. Her new album "Ilmamõtsan" was released mid November and Zurich concert kicked off her tour http://www.marikalkun.com/. Swiss Estonian Association offered home made gingerbread and spieced wine after the concert.

Reading Series Part 4 (of 4) - Saturday, 2nd of December 2017 at 13.00 - family day with Santa Claus! Children book author Kairi Look presented her book "Peetrike, Piia Präänik ja sõbrad"/"Peter, Piia Peppercorn and their friends" and many other books in Estonian and German languages in Katharinen Library (Katharinengasse 11, St.Gallen). The reading hour was followed by Estonian Santa Claus for children. Images are on our association's fb page.

Paavo Järvi Conductor.  Viktoria Mullova Violin Programme: Arvo Pärt "Cantus in Memory of Benjamin Britten";  Jean Sibelius Violin concert d-minor op. 47; Arvo Pärt "Fratres" for string orchestra and drums; Dmitri Schostakowitsch Sinfonia No. 6 h-minor op. 54; Concet was followed by welcome reception with Maestro Paavo Järvi, Estonian Festival Orchestra, Tonhalle Management, h.E. Estonian Minister of Culture Indrek Saar, h.E. Ambassador of Estonia for Switzerland Rein Oidekivi and Honorary Consuls of Estonia Matteo Inaudi (Geneva) and Hans Graf ( Zurich).  

Birdhouse project is a Estonian 100 celbration year project that will remind us of this festive year also beyond 2018. 100 birdhouses were donated for two rare bird species in Switzerland by Estonans and friend of Estonia. This goal was reached on December 19th 2017. Birdlife Schweiz will set up these houses in Basel and Ticino where Wryneck and Redstart species can still be found. The launch is on March 17th 2018.

Thursday, 22nd of February 2018, Vernissage of Estonian artist living in Zurich, Ene Mersite - "Estonia, my homeland".
Vernissage took place on Thrusday, February 22nd. Ene Meriste explained how and why she started to paint. Gallery was full of guests who were able to view Estonian landscape paintings and ask the guided tour by artist also on the following 4 days that exhibition remained open. On Sunday, a special course was offered for Estonian childeren, introduced the landscapes of Estonia through painting. Children were experimenting some techniques. Saturday, 24th of February 2018 evening, Estonian Independence Day concert in Rietberg Museum with Liisi Koikson (EST). Estonians in Switzerland, their relatives-colleagues-friends and friends of Estonia gathered together on February 24th in Zurich, when Estonia celebrated cennentary. The day started with Ene Meriste exhibition in Galerie am Lindenhof with welcome apero, followed by Liisi Koikson, Marti Tärn & DJ Sander Mölder concert. The concert hall was completely sould out and so was the festive dinner in Belvoirpark. Thank you all for coming. Thank you Integration Foundation for supporting this event, which was gift for Estonia.

Monday, 26th of February 2018 - Independence day celebrations continued in Silvaplana, Graubünden, where Liisi Koikson & Band performed in Silvaplana church on 26th of February, followed by Estonian dinner in freshly renovated Albana Hotel, Silvaplana (GR).

Saturday, 17th of March, 2018 at 2pm. Birdhouse-project launch with Birdlife Schweiz in Biel-Benken (BL). 100 birdhouses is a gift for Switzerland from Estonians and friends of Estonia.
The launch of this unique birdhouse project took place on March 17th, 2018 in Biel-Benken (BL), where Birdlife Swiss presented the set up of the houses in Bellinzona and Basel and our association greeted all who participated in this project. This family event included guided tour in nature by Birdlife, followed by a welcome reception in a local farm. This project was sponsored by Estonian IT company Uptime, who has a subsidiary in Switzerland. Here you will find the Press Release

Wednesday, 28th of March - Finissage Sabine Burger photo exhibition Swiss photographer Sabine Burger was presenting some of her photo images of Estonian landscape in ONO Berne between January and end of March 2018. This photo exhibition was an extract of her book "Laulan Laulatäie" which she initiated and co-authored in 2016. The Finissage with Sabine took place on March 28th, 2018. The author presented her beautiful work, engaged the audience to a very enriching discussion forum not only about Estonia but also about music traditions in Switzerland. Estonian Berne ladies took care of the fine Estonian fingerfood.
Sabine with her team are dedicated to a culture project "Õhtu-kallas", that is so called 'culture bridge' between Estonia and Switzerland. More..

Sunday, 8th of April, - Kochen & Essen ESTLAND - leaded by Rea Sturzenegger and Anu Elmer Estonian food cooking event, that was organised by Winterthur city, took place in Alte Kaserne. Rea Sturzenegger and Anu Elmer were two Chefs who guided 10 hobby cooks how to cook Estonian food. In the evening the broader audience was invited to enjoy the delicious dinner they had prepared. It was a wonderful evening full of extraordinary culinary details from Estonia, spiced with stories about our food traditions, bit of language learning and lots of fun! 23 June 2018 - St. John's Day festivities in Roveredo (GR). Estonian Annika Fibbioli and her family were organising an annual GRIN festival on June 23rd in Roveredo (GR). The day started with musical breakfast in Roveredo village and continued til late night including some traditional elements of Estonian St.John's Day. Far-away-guests had the possibility to bring their tents and sleep nearby festival area - between breathtaking mountains and nature. Gallery and summary of the event is here. ​

1 July 2018 - Estonian Philharmonic Chamber Choir in Fribourg Sunday, July 1st 2018 at 20.30 o'clock the Grammy Award Winning ensemble ESTONIAN PHILHARMONIC CHAMBER CHOIR will perform in Fribourg (Eglise du Collège Saint-Michel). 15 - 21. July 2018 Swiss youth choir from Winterthur was on tour in Estonia! Winterthur Konservatorium Choir is the best youth choir of Switzerland 2017. They were visiting the world famous land of choral singing: Estonia! To celebrate 100 years of Estonia and their singing nation. The tour was a cooperation project with Swiss Estonian Association. Their concerts took place 15 July 2018 in Rõuge Maarja Church, Võrumaa 18 July 2018 in Salemi Church, Tartu 21 July 2018 in Oleviste Church, Tallinn The conductor was Christoph Bachmann and on piano Marju Riisikamp.

29 September 2018 - Estonia 100 Special Wine Edition was produced in Valais (VS)
 Estonia100 wine Limited Edition was produced in Vetroz, Valais, where group of Estonians and their friends spent an afternoon and evening with walking in the wine yard, tasting the grapes, guided tour in wine cellar, degustation, voting for EV100 red-wine, followed by real Valais raclette cheese dinner.  The special guest of the event was Estonian best selling book author Valdur Mikita! 18 - 19 October 2018 - Ticino Estonia music biennial event in BellinzonaEvery second year Estonian musicians perform in Ticino and in following year Ticino artists perform in Estonia. This is a beautiful culture project between Ticino and Estonia. This year, Liisi Koikson and Band (Oct 18th) and Peedu Kass Momentum (Oct 19th) will perform in Bellinzona and Lugano. 2 November 2018 - Estonian fondue night in Geneva. Estonians gathered in Geneva for traditional fondue night on November 2nd at 19 o'clock. Estonian film makers Marianne Kôver and Paul Aguraiuja joined the crowd and in the end the rest of restaurant visitors requested a Estonian hymn to be sung.

Detailed programme you can ask by Email: estoswiss@gmail.com , 6 January 2019 Estonian Playgroup 5th jubilee and Open DoorsEstonian Playgroup in Zurich takes place once a month and is intended for children aged 3-12 years. The playgroup was established by Swiss Estonian Association Board in 2014 in order to bring together growing number of 2nd generation of Estonian children. Today there are about 30 children attending the playgroup in three different classes. The manager Kristiina Bylyku welcomed all previous, current and future attendees on January 6th, followed by thanks to all teachers and founders. 16 - 18 January 2019 Conductor Paavo Järvi in Zurich Maag TonhalleEstonian Conductor Paavo Järvi, who will assume his position as Chief Conductor and Art Director of Zurich Tonhalle Orchestra from 2019/20 season on, conducted third concert series with Zurich Tonhalle Orchestra after concerts in Zurich in October 2018 and Tonhalle 150 Asia Tour October-November 2018. The programme included Mozart, Beethoven and Messiaen pieces, with solo violinist Janine Jansen.

3 February 2019 Estonian Swiss contemporary music concert in Geneva Estonian-Swiss contemporary classical musicconcert took place on 3.2.2019 in Studio Ernest-Ansermet (at the feet of the TV tower). The event was followed by welcome apero for Estonians and their friends. The event was organised in cooperation with Estonian Honorary Consul Matteo Inaudi, Contrechamps non profit music organisation and Swiss Estonian Association. This event was part of Estonia 100 programme.

7 February 2019 Estonian Swiss contemporary music concert in Sion(VS) Estonian-Swiss contemporary classical music concert took take place on 7.2.2019 at 19.30 o'clock at the Médiathéque Valais in Sion.  The event was organised in cooperation with Estonian Honorary Consul Matteo Inaudi, Contrechamps non profit music organisation and Swiss Estonian Association. This event was part of Estonia 100 programme.  

2 March 2019 General Assembly of Swiss Estonian Association, followed by Dinner and Concert of Jaan Tätte This special event took place in Gockhausen, Zürich. During the General Assembly the new board was elected. The highlight of the evening was the cosy concert of Jaan Tätte.
